I was hurt by some words someone close to me told me once. They said, “Why can’t you just conform?”

I was furious to say the least. The hurt kind of fury that you carry with you silently for months. I wanted to put all of my rage into making something horrifically beautiful.

As kitsune and foxes are the animal I relate to the most, I thought of a fox beheaded by its collar. Still snarling. Still furious. A refusal to be the docile pet it was told it should be.

I sculpted the fox head and collar using Zbrush, added the settings in Rhino. Cast in silver, with set garnets and pearl. A chain holds the head and collar together, with beaded garnets covering it.
